Hello 1

Hello from Nigeria,
I’m just getting this figured out. If I do what I can while I’m at the guest house, I can copy and send when I get to the internet connection at the orphanage. This news is slow. I will ramble on about what happened on Sunday and eventually catch up to the present.
Sunday was our first full day in Nigeria. We attended church in Abuja. There is only one United Methodist church in the city and it is not the most solid structure I have ever seen. As a matter of fact, I was worried that the roof would fall in. The congregation is about  400 people. The service began at 9:30 and lasted until after lunch. They cut it a bit short because the missionaries had to get to the airport to fly to Yola and then drive to Jalingo, our final destination. It was a wonderful service as they all are here. There are announcements like in the US, but they take longer. Lay people actually want to be a part of the service. The music is beyond words and each church has a band as far as I can tell. Anyway, each church I have attended. Every group has a song to present and there is much dancing. I need to figure how to use my movie feature on this camera so I can catch some of it. After church people stay and you can even buy food or snacks if you want. Different groups practice their music for the next week. There was a bunch of girls doing hair. One of the choirs was practicing outside and a heard of cattle was passing by a few feet away. I caught a photo of a chicken that came to church. Everyone wanted their picture to be snapped with the missionaries. We left and went to the airport long before many of the rest of the congregation. It was a wonderful day.
