Friday

Good morning. This is a beautiful morning! It got cool last night, was about 97 when I went to bed last night. This morning I woke up with a gecko running around in my mosquito net. I am of the hope he is after the spiders. Linda said she saw two of them in her room and I walked through a web when I walked into the dining room. Flies are out too.
Yesterday, I did some artwork with the level six students. There are five of them. I think it will take longer than I’ll be here for them to get used to me. We talked a bit about color and how to mix primary to make secondary colors. They understood because they studied this in science, but never tried it. Then they did some drawings. Some of them are wonderful with a pencil and when it came time to paint I was amazed. One of the children, Boer Peter, drew a whole village scene complete with at least five people. His detail was so small that I was afraid if he used the brushes in the watercolor kit they would run so I gave him one of my brushes to use. I only needed to show him once and he did a great job. Next time we will do them on watercolor paper. I brought enough for each child to do at least two on that paper.
